Dreaming dreams of 4th
I have simply adored my experiences following West Ham over land and sea and now we've a real chance now of 4th haven't we? We just need to keep this current form and we could be witnessing Champions League football next season at the Olympic Stadium.

As a few teams have found out, the play off round isn't easy by any stretch of the imagination, of course it comes with the safety net of falling into the Europa League, so qualifying 4th would give us at least 8 games.

And there could be some big teams awaiting and if the leagues finish as they are then it would be;

5 of these 10

Nice
FC Rostov
Shakhtar
PSV
Gent
Young Boys
Fenerbahce
AEK Athens
Sparta Prague
Pandurii

The 5 would join us and;

Villareal
Schalke
Roma
Porto

awaiting the 5 winners, a place in the group stage of the Champions League, almost unimaginable 12 months ago.

Suddenly things that were unimaginable, start to look a real possibility. CL talk at the beginning of the Season, would have had you sectioned, but looking at what Leicester have done, with the squad we have, and future investment ahead, at football at the OS, we really are entering a new era.

Now if only we could get some decent owners.......

I think we can honestly say if we hadn't of had so many injuries to key first team players we'd be right in the mix.

Yes nearly all sides suffer injuries at some point throughout the season, but the amount we had must have cost us a few points, we could possibly be another 6/8 points better off?

Still a great season though & who knows where we might end up still?

"Hands up who wants Young Boys?! "

I wouldn't have a problem, just as long as we don't score first...

Apparently they're great at coming from behind...

Re: Dreaming dreams of 4th
Good post this IMV.

Speaking to a bloke at walking football this morning ('kin brilliant, took it up in January) I was saying that in all the years I've followed them from '65 as an 8yr old, apart from '86, I can't ever remember thinking that we would get a result from every game we play.

But I do now.

For me it was the Everton game up there. 2 down and them with 10 men, to come back and win 2-3 was huge.

Yes they missed a penalty, but the point is the spirit the team showed to come back & not just roll over is something we simply don't do - until now.

It just keeps rolling on but it's underpinned with quality and bloody hard work throughout the team.

Billic? - proving to be real class, but the team has spirit and togetherness - what a great combination.

Like our song it may fade and die this season, but if we finished right now, 5th and reaching the 1/4 final of the cup, I'd be pleased.

But I don't think it will finish. I think we'll turn Man U over in the replay and go on & win it. I also think top 4 is very achievable.

I love this club, always have, always will, the supporters, the culture we play with, the class we try and and always show, the history - it's in our blood.

We are a special club - now we're playing like one too.

Long may it continue.

If my old man was here he'd love the way we're playing now too.

Man city's fixtures don't look easy, they have some difficult trips away and have to play Arsenal at home. I know we have to play the gooners at home, but I fancy us to beat them.

IF we beat man Utd in league and cup, we will finish top four and win FA.

I reckon the fans of both clubs would be ecstatic with how their seasons have gone.

Agreed Marston... been an absolute credit... as have both managers...

That would be a pretty poor season for us but excellent for them.

Watford have stayed up in their first year up and are in the semis at wembley.

Bournemouth have had worse injury luck than us and were the bookies favourites to go down. Not only are they safe with 9 games left they've done it playing good football.

I reckon the fans of both clubs would be ecstatic with how their seasons have gone.

Marston

Watford and Bournemouth are 13th and 14th.

I would say they are relieved not to be in a relegation dogfight but 'happy'?

I don't remember ever being happy when West Ham finished in the bottom half of the table. You have to set your sights pretty low to call that a good season.

How is dreaming of 4th getting carried away?

There's only 8 games left and we are a point off it.

Re: Dreaming dreams of 4th
If we finished 4th one thing being overlooked is the other advantage we'd have is not many of our players will play in the euros....not Adrian. Only one from the back four would be hinge who probably won't be first choice only maybe Payet from the midfield and none of our strikers, so we'd pretty much have a full squad to play baring injury

I'd guess a lot of the teams you wouldn't want to draw in the qualifier would have players who've just played in the euros and those players usually get extra time off or at least they'll be fucked
